Hope Squad

Hope Squad is a school-based peer support program that educates students on recognizing the warning signs of suicide and equips them with the tools to prevent it. By fostering a culture of openness, compassion, and awareness, Hope Squad empowers peers to intervene, connect their classmates to trusted adults, and promote a supportive community. Through education, training, and peer involvement, this program helps reduce youth suicide and encourages a safer, more understanding environment for all students.

It is my pleasure to share with the Blanding community the amazing field trip the Jr. Hope Squad from Blanding Elementary and I took this past Friday, February 28, to the Four Corners Regional Care Center. Upon arrival, the students presented their beautifully created Valentine cards filled with gratitude and appreciation. The residents were overjoyed, their faces lighting up with bright smiles as the students shared their cards and asked thoughtful questions about their lives.

This was an inspirational and powerful experience that meant so much to both the students and the residents, especially those whose families have not been able to visit. It is our goal to continue engaging with the residents at Four Corners Regional Care Center and encourage others to experience the extraordinary lives of these individuals.
