Making a Difference

The Making a Difference Campaign focuses on students that are quietly doing good things in their school and community. These students are nominated and voted on by their teachers and definitely deserve this recognition! We love seeing our youth make a difference in their sphere of influence. Students from San Juan Schools are nominated through school counselors, teachers, or other community members who make a contribution of kindness or positivity towards others and that by doing so, make a difference in their schools and community.

This is how is works:

  • The nominations are made and sent to Shauna Sherrow, [email protected], by the end of each month.
  • Shauna returns the Making a Difference Award and backpack for each student to each school that has sent in nominations.
  • You award the youth and take pictures, you than email a picture and media release to my email and I send the pictures to the paper for publication.

WE WOULD LOVE LOTS OF NOMINATIONS OF STUDENTS EACH MONTH FROM EACH SCHOOL. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT, THE STUDENTS LOVE BEING RECOGNIZED. THIS SUPPORTS THE SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY (evidence based), Students are given Opportunities, they use their Skills, and then they are Recognized!
