Parents Empowered Month is a statewide initiative dedicated to educating and empowering parents to prevent underage drinking through open communication, clear expectations, and consistent involvement in their children’s lives. Held annually in partnership with schools, coalitions, and community leaders across Utah, the campaign emphasizes that parents are the number one influence on whether their children choose to drink alcohol.
As part of this effort, San Juan County Prevention Action Collaboration (SJCPAC) is proud to participate in and promote Parents Empowered Month by working with families, schools, and local organizations to:
- Share prevention resources and materials
- Host awareness events and educational workshops
- Encourage positive parent-child relationships
- Promote safe and healthy environments for youth
Together, we can support parents in creating strong bonds and protective boundaries that reduce the risk of early alcohol use. When parents talk, kids listen — and that makes all the difference.
